Okay,  What is the status of a COOP here in SD?  I know I am tired of spending$120-$150 a week just to drive to and from work 30 -40 miles a day.  I have wanted to make BioD for a while but this has kicked me into high gear.  Please let me know if we are going to get this off the ground.

Howdy, I'm Mark, there are a LOT of message boards to keep up with,

The San Diego group is meeting at my place Sunday June 1st at 1:00 PM hosted by Tony Vickers. I don't know if there is an official "coop" yet but this will be the group interested in creating one in San Diego. Please bring food/ drink. Snack stuff is best as I am not roasting a pig in the back yard (yes someone hinted at bringing a pig to roast), LOL. Also note that, due to slight dyslexia, I posted the wrong address on some other message boards which Tony and I later corrected so, if you see another address, disregard it.

I am a newbie to the BioDiesel arena, but I am putting my order in on a 2009 Jetta TDI Wagon (hopefully available in August sometime) for my daily commute and am interested in finding out how the COOP in San Diego, specifically in North County, is shaping up. How did the June 1 meeting go? What were the conclusions or next steps? By the way, does anybody know if converting a new diesel car to BioDiesel voids the warranty? I am going to do some research to find out, but I thought I would ask here to see what experiences people have had. This oughta be an interesting ride.

Hi Mark,

I just found this forum, I've been making test batches of biodiesel for the last several week and am getting ready to produce larger batches in the reactor we built. I'm very interested in a biodiesel coop and in sharing information. Please contact me next time you are planning to have a get together, I'd love to stop by. I live way out in Pine Valley, but have some friends that live on Amity - so I can visit them too.

Cheers,

Rick

Hi, Eddie Keyes here. I am looking for wvo for my recently converted 1984 MZ 300SD automobile. My wife and I volunteer with Wildlife Assist in the rescue of mammals, birds and other wildlife who are injured, abandoned or trapped. We are on-call throughout the county, and drive our MZ with the nets, gloves, crates and such on these resuces.

Can you help us source any wvo, or know of a co-op we can communicate with? Many thanks Mike!

I live in East County in between la mesa and el cajon. I am currently collecting WVO from 6 different restaurants. Although their output is slow, i am still looking for more and more restaurants to offer our recycling service to. I would like to join the SD coop and help in the production of biodiesel. I am willing to contribute WVO, lye, and time. I would also like to go in on some methanol. I only do small batches of diesel < 40 gallons with my homemade processor. Who is ready to turn San Diego green? Lets do it!
