 Hello All!

I'm new to the forums and have just purchased a biodiesel kit to produce fuel for my home. I am wondering if any batches fail the 3/27 test, is it still good to put in my tank to be used in my furnace. I saw an earlier post where a gentleman was wondering if the fuel that failed the test was still good to be used in his vehicle and the answer was it was it's safer not to. I would guess it would be because of the fuel injectors. You wouldn't want to ruin those in your daily driver but I want to know if a furnace is different.

Yes you can burn off spec. bio in your furnace .There are no close tolerance parts to worry about destroying with poorly converted or high soap content fuel!

You may find more soot or cokeing of particulate around the flame shield and or nozzle that is about all.

I have ben running unwashed and non 3/27  bio.in my Carlin burner for 1 year plus with no problems.

Any 27/3 failures are not complete reactions and you can add some more alcohol and lye mix and run it again and save it.
