I think a co-op is a good idea. Neighborhoods in Seattle, WA who have set up neighborhood co-ops have been documented on tv educational programming. I'm reserching biodiesel to potentially use it to run a small fleet of diesel work trucks. I know that a number of Lexington's city trucks use a mix of biodiesel, but I don't know if they produce it themselves or if they buy it from a retailer. Any one know?

I am in a 2004 Jetta TDI and would welcome a bio coop if one could be created.  I know that you can purchase Willie Diesel from TX and have a tank shipped to you, but that sounds extreme.  I would be willing to invest $1000 toward a coop to get something up and going.  My Jetta continues to average 43 overall, but at $4.65 a gallon it is shocking to fill it up even though I have 550 of safe highway range.

Same here - I'm a new owner of a Jetta TDI. I can't even find good information on where the nearest station is that sells biodiesel. I'd certainly participate in a coop in central kentucky. Might could help out with startup.

I'm curious as to where you are acquiring methanol to process your biodiesel?  What prices have you found?
